Bus driver plows into Burger King in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – An MTA bus driver suffered a medical episode and crashed into a Burger King in Brooklyn early Thursday, police said.

The driver was operating the bus in Kensington just after midnight when he suffered the medical emergency while taking a left turn from Dahill Road onto Fort Hamilton Parkway.

He drove into the corner Burger King at 3301 Fort Hamilton Pkwy.

The FDNY responded to the scene, and EMS transported the driver to a hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported

Citizen App video shows the front end of the bus inside of the Burger King.

The restaurant was closed at the time, and no one was inside, police said.

Two women—60 and 23 years old—were the only passengers on the bus at the time. They were not injured.

The bus driver was transported to Maimonides Medical Center, where he was in stable condition. Police didn’t say what sort of medical condition he suffered before the crash.

No vehicles or pedestrians were hit by the bus, police said.
