NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Two people were injured when a taxi driver crashed into a Carvel ice cream shop in Brooklyn on Thursday, officials said.

The cabbie jumped a curb shortly before 8 a.m. and entered the ice cream shop at 86th Street and Third Avenue in Bay Ridge, according to the FDNY.

Inspectors from the Department of Buildings found the vehicle "had jumped the curb and crashed into a commercial storefront, breaking glass and leaving the first floor exposed to the elements."

The DOB said it issued a partial vacate order for the first floor of the two-story building in the interest of public safety.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
