9-year-old child found unresponsive in LI pool hospitalized in critical condition

NESCONSET, N.Y. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A nine-year-old child who was found unresponsive in a residential swimming pool on Long Island Friday evening was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, Suffolk County Police said.

Neighbors found the boy in a pool at 11 5th St. in Nesconset at about 6:13 p.m., removed him from the water and called 911.

They began performing CPR on the child until first responders arrived a short time later, police said.

Medical personnel transported the child to Stony Brook University Hospital in critical condition.
