NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Patients hoping to get tested for COVID-19 at dozens of CityMD outposts will now be able to wait in a virtual line instead of a physical one, the company said Tuesday.
Seventy CityMD locations in New Jersey, New York City, Westchester County and Long Island have started using a "virtual line system" for COVID-19 testing, the company said in a release.
Any patient seeking a COVID-19 test at those sites will be able to walk inside, leave their name and number with a front desk team member and receive an estimated wait time.
The site will send a follow-up text instructing the patient to come back within 30 minutes of their appointment time, according to the release.
All of CityMD's sites will be using the system by early January, the release noted.
"This new process aims to provide a more convenient experience by eliminating the need to wait in a physical line outside of CityMD locations," the release said.
A full list of sites with virtual lines is available on CityMD's website.
