NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is asking for the public's help to identify a gunman who opened fire on two people before stealing a running vehicle over the weekend in Brooklyn.
It happened at around 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, outside 327 Graham Ave. in Williamsburg. According to police, the suspect forcibly snatched a bag containing clothing from a 55-year-old man. When the victim tried to fight back and retrieve his belongings, the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired a shot directly at him.
A 31-year-old good Samaritan stepped in to try and stop the robber, prompting the gunman to fire a second shot at him, officials said.
After shooting at both men, authorities said the suspect spotted an unattended, running 2019 black Toyota Sienna minivan belonging to a 48-year-old man. He jumped into the vehicle and sped away from the scene.
There were no injuries reported as a result of this incident.
