NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A club promoter from New Jersey was sentenced to 18 years-to-life in prison for violently raping two women in his car in September 2021, according to prosecutors.

Christopher Macias, 35, was found guilty of two counts of predatory sexual assault, three counts of rape and one count of criminal sexual act on Nov. 16, 2023.

On Sept. 6, 2021, Macias took the first survivor, a college freshman, out to dinner posing it as a business meeting, according to court documents. After the dinner, Macias turned off the road and forcibly raped the survivor in his car.

The second incident was on Sept. 18, 2023, when Macias drove the second survivor after her shift at the club ended where they worked together. At around 4:50 a.m., at the intersection of Washington Square North and MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village, Macias forcible raped her twice in his car. She tried to fight Macias off but he physically assaulted her injuring her ear and arm, according to court documents.

“Christopher Macias abused his power as a supervisor to assault two survivors, scarring them with trauma that they face to this day,” Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg, Jr.said. “While we cannot erase what happened, I hope there is some sense of closure knowing Christopher Macias is being held accountable for the brutal crimes he committed. My Office is here to fully assist anyone who has been the survivor of sexual abuse, and I urge anyone who has experienced this type of violence to call us at 212-335-9373.”
