NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police released surveillance video on Wednesday of two suspects wanted in connection to a violent shooting outside a Brooklyn “Sweet 16” birthday party over the weekend.
The shooting occurred at about 1:10 a.m. Sunday morning in front of Burbuja Events in Cypress Hills, located at 2929 Atlantic Ave.
Two suspects pulled out guns and shot into a crowd, striking six teens.
Three 15-year-olds were hit, with one girl suffering an injury to the right leg and a boy to the left arm, officials said. The other girl was shot in the chest, hip and leg.
Two 16-year-old boys were shot—one getting struck in the left foot and the other in the right arm. A 17-year-old boy was also shot, sustaining a wound to his right leg.
Authorities said that the suspects then fled north on Ashford Street. All victims were transported to local area hospitals in stable condition.
Owner Melissa Felipe told 1010 WINS that the party ended at 1 a.m., and shortly after she heard the commotion outside.
“I just heard people screaming like, ‘oh shooting outside,’ but I looked in the camera and I saw everyone running,” Felipe said.
1010 WINS counted at least 21 shell casings at the scene on Sunday, which were all gathered by the NYPD's Evidence Collection Team. The investigation is ongoing.
Both suspects were last seen wearing black hooded sweatshirts, black pants and black sneakers, police said. One was wearing a black ski mask, while the other had on a blue face mask and blue and pink head covering.
