NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for two men they suspect of driving taxi or rideshare drivers in the Bronx last week.

The first incident took place on April 21 around 11:30 p.m. on East 240th Street near Matilda Avenue in Wakefield, according to officials.

The men allegedly pulled a gun on a 38-year-old woman working as a taxi or rideshare driver and demanded her property.

The driver refused and sped off, as the men fled on foot.

Just a few hours later around 2:15 a.m. the next day, the men used the same tactic on a 51-year-old taxi or rideshare driver on East 202nd Street near Valentine Avenue in Jerome Park.

The man handed over his cellphone, tablet and about $300 at gunpoint.

The robbers fled on foot.

Police are asking anyone with information on the robberies to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Anonymous tips can also be submitted on the Crime Stoppers website or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
