NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – Two people were injured in back-to-back subway slashings in Downtown Brooklyn on Tuesday night—and police believe the same man is behind both attacks.
The NYPD continued to search for the at-large suspect Wednesday as the victims recovered. No description of him has been released.
The violence started around 11:50 p.m., when a woman was slashed by a man at the Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center station.
The man started some sort of dispute with the woman before brandishing a knife and slashing her across the lower right leg, police said.
She was taken in stable condition to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
Just minutes later, a man was slashed at the nearby Fulton Street G train station.
The 67-year-old victim was slashed from behind across both legs and his left arm, according to cops.
He was transported to the same hospital in unknown condition.
It’s unclear if the two men were in a dispute before the slashing.
