NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is searching for a killer after a man was found dead in the Bronx on Wednesday afternoon, his body rotting with a knife stuck in his torso, sources told 1010 WINS.
Police made the discovery just before 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday inside 1006 Longfellow Ave. in Longwood, officials said. Medics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
Sources said that it is suspected the victim’s body was left for days as his corpse was found in a state of decomposition.
The unidentified victim was knifed in the torso, after which the suspect fled on foot to parts unknown, authorities said.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect on Thursday, and say he was last seen wearing a black shirt, dark pants and sneakers.
Sources told 1010 WINS that the suspect may be the roommate of the victim.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
