NEW YORK (1010 WINS/ WCBS 880 NEWS) – A couple and their unborn child died after their SUV crashed into a snowplow on Monday night in New Jersey, according to New Jersey State Police.
Eliyahu Neydavoud, 29, was driving on the northbound side of the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County at around 8 p.m. when he crashed into the side of a snowplow truck, police said.
The snowplow truck operator at the time was trying to enter the emergency vehicle U-turn area, according to police.
Neydavoud, and passenger Raizel Rothernberg, 30, both of Lakewood died due to their injuries.
According to the Lakewood Scoop, they were a couple. Rothenberg was also pregnant with the couple's first child.
Neydavoud served as a rabbi at Ohel Torah in Lakewood, according to the Lakewood Scoop.
A funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. at the Board of Education Gym across the Lakewood Chapel, 613 Ramsey Ave., in Lakewood on Tuesday.
An investigation is ongoing.
