NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — A woman is in critical condition after she was struck by an allegedly stolen vehicle that was engaged in a police chase in Queens on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
Officers were attempting to stop a suspected stolen vehicle in Astoria at about 4:35 p.m. when the vehicle operator fled the scene.
The vehicle then struck a woman cycling at Crescent Avenue and 114th Street, officials said.
She was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst in critical condition.
At least one person of interest is in custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
