NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police released surveillance footage Thursday of a cyclist accused of using a bike chain to beat a driver who passed him in Brooklyn last week.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, a 26-year-old man was driving his vehicle in front of 257 Avenue X in Gravesend when he drove around the suspect riding a bicycle, authorities said.

According to officials, the cyclist became irate and struck the victim's vehicle with a bike chain, causing the window to break.

The victim attempted to restrain the cyclist who then began to repeatedly strike the victim with the bike chain.

The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment.

The cyclist fled the location on a bicycle in an unknown direction. He was last seen wearing a neon green t-shirt, blue shorts, white and gray sneakers, a headscarf and glasses.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
