NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Mayor Bill de Blasio addressed his life after City Hall on Wednesday, saying he hoped to remain a public servant in the future.

The mayor was asked at his daily briefing what his plans are for when he's out of office next year.

"I will not be going to the private sector and making a ton of money," de Blasio said when asked. "I have never done that, never will, it's just not who I am."

"I am a public servant, this is my life," the mayor added. "Certainly, want to find some way to serve in the future."

De Blasio said the fight against COVID has "been all encompassing, all involving" and that he's focused on the city's recovery.

"I can feel the future and the ability to bring this city back strong. This is going to be the greatest comeback story in the history of New York City. It really is. That's what I'm focused on. At some point, I'll have to figure out the future, but just not there yet."
