NEW YORK (1010 WINS) - One person is in custody after a search warrant for illegal firearms uncovered an explosive device inside a Brooklyn residential building Wednesday.
Members of the Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) JFK Task Force were executing a search warrant related to a "ghost gun" probe at 2525 West 2nd St. in Gravesend when they uncovered a suspicious, cylindrical package. The device was believed to be a pipe bomb, sources told 1010 WINS.
The discovery prompted an immediate temporary evacuation of the residential building and the NYPD Bomb Squad was called to the scene. scene.
Officials took one person into custody at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
