
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 24-year-old driver was killed in a fiery crash at the entrance of the Manhattan Bridge in Manhattan early Monday morning, according to the NYPD.
At about 1:45 a.m., the driver was speeding in his Nissan Altima on Canal Street in Chinatown when he lost control of the vehicle, officials said.
The car then struck a light pole on Bowery and caught fire.
First responders pronounced the driver dead on the scene. He has not yet been identified.
Part of the Manhattan Bridge was closed for further investigation.
