NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD's Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the hit-and-run death of an e-bike rider with a truck Thursday morning in Queens, authorities said.
At approximately 6:12 a.m., police responded to a vehicle collision in the vicinity of Northern Boulevard and Parsons Boulevard in Flushing.
Further investigation determined that an 82-year-old man was riding an electric bicycle traveling eastbound on Northern Boulevard in the left turn lane when he made a left turn onto the westbound lanes of Northern Boulevard and was involved in a collision with a 2015 International tractor-trailer that was traveling westbound on Northern Boulevard.
The tractor-trailer continued westbound on Northern Boulevard and did not remain on the scene.
EMS pronounced the man dead on the scene.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD's Collision Investigation Squad.
