WEEKEND WEATHER: Expect sunshine and temps into 80s Memorial Day weekend

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Memorial Day weekend is almost here, and New York City is looking forward to a sunny start to the unofficial start of summer, according to Accuweather.

Friday will see a chilly start, then mainly sunny and nice in the afternoon. The high will be 72.

Temperatures will dip to a low of 56 degrees on Friday night, with temperatures plunging into the 40s in some suburbs.

By Saturday, there will be plenty of sun, and at a high of 74, it's definitely a comfortable start to the holiday weekend. The beaches will reach the upper 60s.

Sunday is partly sunny with a high of 76. The beaches will again reach the 60s.

Looking ahead, Memorial Day will be nice and warm with some sunshine. High is 80 to 85, but in the 70s across Long Island and at the beaches.

Monday night will be clear, with a low in the high 60s.

According to AccuWeather, the dry weather will continue next week, with even warmer temperatures expected by the end of the week.
