Fake deliveryman forces way into East Village apt, attacks woman, 77, for $20

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are searching for a fake deliveryman that robbed and attacked a senior in the East Village earlier this week, authorities announced Friday.

At approximately 1 p.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 5, the suspect entered a residential building located in the vicinity of FDR Drive and East 4th Street.

Once inside the building, he knocked on the 77-year-old woman posing as a delivery person and forcibly entered the apartment by pushing the victim to the ground and stealing about $20, jewelry, and a Ring camera.

The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction to parts unknown. EMS treated the victim for minor injuries on the scene.

The suspect was last seen wearing a green baseball cap, white t-shirt, black pants and black sneakers, carrying a black backpack.
