NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- LIRR and NJ Transit trains were being diverted Thursday as the FDNY responded to a track fire at Penn Station.
The FDNY received a call around 11:20 a.m. about an electrical fire on Amtrak tracks.
No injuries were reported, but transit service was disrupted as the operation continued into the afternoon.
The MTA said all LIRR service was suspended into and out of Penn Station. Trains were going to Grand Central Madison instead.
NJ Transit also suspended service at Penn Station. Trains were instead going to Hoboken, where riders could take PATH trains to the city.
