
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A fire ripped through the Herald Square Holiday Market early Monday morning seriously injuring a firefighter, the FDNY confirmed.
Over 60 firefighters responded to the blaze at around 4 a.m. on Broadway between West 35th and West 36th streets, according to fire officials.
One firefighter was was taken to NYU Langone’s Tisch Hospital to be treated for serious injuries, fire officials said.
There were 65 booths involved in the fire. Some were completely destroyed and others were completely unscathed. Those booths will remain open for business.
The flames were placed under control around 5 a.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
