NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Police have ruled the death of a 1-year-old girl who died days after suffering head trauma and broken bones in Brooklyn as a homicide, authorities said Thursday.
At approximately 6:43 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, officers were notified of an unconscious child inside of an apartment at 718 Saint Marks Ave. in Crown Heights.
EMS responded and transported the girl to NYC Health + Hospitals/ Kings County, in critical condition.
An investigation determined that the girl suffered trauma to the body.
On Wednesday, September 20, the girl was pronounced dead of complications from head trauma by hospital staff at Maimonides Medical Center.
The girl also suffered two broken femur, or thigh bones, officials said.
This incident has now been deemed a homicide.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
