NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 12-year-old girl and 14-year-old boy were taken into police custody Thursday for bringing a loaded gun into a Queens school, police said.
School safety agents found the gun around 10:20 a.m. at P.S. 105 on Beach 51st St. near Elizabeth Ave. in Edgemere, authorities said.
The school safety agents were tipped off by a teacher. The gun was found in the girl’s backpack.
Officials said the girl insisted the teen boy had given her the fully-loaded .22 caliber automatic weapon.
Both the girl and boy were taken into police custody where the girl was later released and the boy was charged with weapon possession.
