Girl, 12, raped by stranger while entering NYCHA complex in East Williamsburg: police

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A young girl was raped while entering her home in East Williamsburg on Thursday evening, and police released photos of a suspect as they search for the assailant.

It happened at about 5:45 p.m. as the 12-year-old entered her residence, NYCHA’s Cooper Park Houses near Morgan Avenue and Skillman Avenue, in East Williamsburg.

Once in the lobby the girl was approached by an unknown man who grabbed her, pushed her to the ground and forcibly raped her, police said.

The suspect—last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, black sweatpants, white and black sneakers and carrying a dark-colored backpack—fled on foot.

Medics transported the survivor to a local hospital in stable condition.
