NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 17-year-old girl was fatally shot in the face in Brooklyn on Wednesday evening—just the latest bystander caught in a hail of bullets in the city.

The teen was with a group of people in front of 1225 Eastern Pkwy. in Crown Heights when two male shooters fired about five shots into the crowd around 6:15 p.m., police said.

The victim was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital. She was later identified as Shayma Roman, who lived several blocks away from the shooting scene.

Police said she was not the intended target.

Police are searching for the two suspects, who fled on a scooter down Rochester Avenue.

It’s just the latest shooting in which bystanders were struck.

At a playground in Ozone Park on Tuesday, two teens and two men were shot and wounded.

Earlier that day, a 48-year-old woman was struck by a bullet in Harlem as two men argued nearby.
