NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 9-year-old girl died after she was pulled from a reservoir on Staten Island on Tuesday, the NYPD said.
The girl disappeared into Silver Lake Reservoir around 2 p.m. on Tuesday and didn't reemerge, police said.
Members of the FDNY's scuba unit pulled her from the reservoir not long after, the NYPD said.
The girl was taken to Richmond University Medical Center, where she was initially listed in critical condition, according to police. She passed away at the hospital not long after, police said.
It wasn't immediately clear how the girl ended up in the reservoir, and her name wasn't immediately released. An investigation is ongoing.
