Upon arrival, officers observed a 15-year-old boy with injuries to his right leg and a 16-year-old girl with severe head trauma, authorities said.

EMS transported the boy to Cohen Children's Medical Center in stable condition, and the teen girl to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, in critical condition.

Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined that the teen boy was driving a 2021 Yamaha Motorcycle with the teen girl as the passenger on Cooper Avenue approaching 88th Street.

At the same time, a 2021 Mazda CX-30, occupied by a 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman front-seat passenger, was traveling on 88th Street approaching Cooper Avenue.

As the motorcycle proceeded, it struck the front of the Mazda, causing both operator and passenger to become ejected onto the pavement, the NYPD said.

Both vehicles remained at the scene and EMS also transported the occupants of the Mazda to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where they were treated and released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
