The fundraiser’s goal is set at $300,000, up from its original $100,000 goal which was surpassed in less than 24 hours.

“Christina was full of life. She radiated positivity, joy, and love. She supported her friends in everything that they did. She went above and beyond to make those she loved know she was there for them—never expecting anything in return,” the GoFundMe page states. “Her loss is an unfathomable tragedy that her loved ones and her community will struggle with for years to come.”

The first $100,000 raised will be distributed amongst five organizations including:

$10,500 for Prospect Park Alliance which was Lee’s favorite park in the city and a place she spent a lot of time;

$26,850 for Womankind, an organization that serves survivors of domestic violence;

$35,800 for Planned Parenthood as Lee was an active donor of the organization and an advocate for a woman’s right to choose;

$17,900 for Elizabeth Street Garden which was another one of Lee’s favorite spaces in New York City;

$8,950 for SafeWalks which is an organization that pairs New Yorkers with travel companions if they feel unsafe walking alone.

The family said with the increase in their funding goal, they plan to establish the Christina Yuna Lee Memorial Fund to continue support the named organizations and others in the future.
