NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A man attempted to rape a 34-year-old woman in a Queens building lobby bathroom on Wednesday, but a good Samaritan stepped in to stop the attack at the last second, police said Friday.

The man cornered the woman with his genitals exposed in the bathroom of a building near the intersection of Crescent Street and 41st Avenue in Dutch Kills around 10:40 p.m., officials said.

He reportedly grabbed her face and attempted to pull down her pants, but a good Samaritan intervened after hearing the woman’s screams.

After seeing the stranger, the man fled on foot toward the Queensboro Plaza subway station, according to authorities.

The victim was not injured in the attack.

Police are asking for anyone with information on the attack to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). Anonymous tips can also be submitted on the Crime Stoppers website or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
