Group slashes teen in lobby of Upper West Side luxury high-rise

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Police are investigating after a teenager was repeatedly slashed during a dispute in the lobby of a luxury Upper West Side apartment building Wednesday night.

Just after 10:45 p.m. the 16-year-old boy was surrounded and attacked in the lobby of a building at Waterline Square on West 61st Street, where one-bedroom rentals go for $7,500 a month.

The teen was slashed in the back, left shoulder and left wrist as he ran into the lobby.

He was hospitalized in stable condition.

The suspects fled on foot toward West End Avenue.

A knife was recovered at the scene.

It’s unclear if the boy lives in building or just ran there Police describe the incident as an assault and said it was not a robbery.
