NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Cops are searching for a robber who opened fire on a Coney Island street vendor in the middle of the day to steal his DVDs.
The NYPD released video Monday of the suspect wanted in the robbery from the afternoon of Nov. 6.
The vendor, a 39-year-old man, was working at West 29th Street and Mermaid Avenue around 2:20 p.m. when the suspect took DVDs and attempted to leave without paying for them, police said.
When the vendor confronted him, he pulled out a gun and started shooting, according to police.
The suspect then fled on foot westbound on Mermaid Avenue with the retro movie discs, police said.
The vendor was not struck, and no injuries were reported in the robbery, police said.
