Gunman sought after man, 38, fatally shot in abdomen on Brooklyn street

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — The NYPD is searching for a gunman after a man was fatally shot overnight in Brooklyn.

At about 1:20 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a male shot at Pilling Street and Broadway in Bushwick.

Upon arrival, officers observed a 38-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

EMS transported the victim to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead.

There are no arrests at this time as police search for a man with a green jacket who fled southbound.

The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
