NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A Harlem middle school teacher was indicted
for allegedly sexually abusing students at over a two year span, authorities announced Thursday.

Saneel Boodram, 48, was charged with sexual abuse, course of sexual conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to court documents, Boodram was employed as a paraprofessional at PS/IS 76 when he allegedly sexually abused three students between September 2022 and December 2024.

Boodram allegedly made sexual comments and subjected a child to sexual contact on multiple occasions over the course of two years beginning when she was 11 years old, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said.

He also allegedly sexually subjected a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old to sexual contact, in addition to texting the 13-year-old a shirtless photo and inviting her over to his house to use his pool.

The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office’s Child Abuse Bureau is investigating these allegations and asks any parent or guardian who has concerns about their child, especially children who attended the school during Boodram's employment from 2000 until 2024, to call 212-335-4300.

“As alleged, Saneel Boodram used his position at a public middle school to inappropriately touch and engage with at least three children," D.A. Bragg said. “Please reach out to our Office at 212-335-4300 if you believe your child may have been abused by this individual – our experienced team has trauma-informed training to handle these investigations with the care and sensitivity they deserve.”
