NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) — Are you craving Caesar salad and french fries? Mac n’ cheese with chicken nuggets? Popcorn, M&Ms, assorted cheese and bread? Then it might be time to indulge in a #GirlDinner.
The Perch at Broadway Lounge, an eighth-floor rooftop lounge at the New York Marriott Marquis, has prepared an elevated #GirlDinner menu to satisfy your wildest cravings in an atmosphere worthy of a summer night out with its “Bubbles Over Broadway” experience, open daily through Sept. 2.
#GirlDinner, an internet trend that sprung up last summer and has since amassed millions of views, shows the fun amalgamation of snacks that people eat for their evening meal when left to their own devices.
“Our team worked together to creatively incorporate elements of the trend, ensuring the menu was both on-trend and aligned with our vision,” senior marketing manager at the New York Marriott Marquis Maria Medved told 1010 WINS/WCBS 880. “This approach demonstrates our commitment to staying relevant and innovative, creating a dining experience that resonates with contemporary tastes.”
The menu features a variety of bites, sips and treats curated by Chef Juan Arboleda that embrace the whimsy in the social media trend, from the “Pop(sicle) The Prosecco” drink—vodka, guava, lime and prosecco garnished with a popsicle—to the chocolate and fruit laden “Nutella Pizza.”
When asked for her menu recommendations, Medved suggested starting off with the “Bubble Bath” Jim Beam cocktail, garnished with a rubber duck (for a built-in souvenir). She said to then order the “Girl Dinner Happy Meal,” which includes a Caesar salad, sweet potato fries and either a dirty or espresso martini for your main course. And for a quintessential #GirlDinner sweet treat, she recommends enjoying a “Scoop in a Coupe,” or caramel ice cream topped with Froot Loops cereal.
The noshes and spirits can be enjoyed from tables and lounge furniture overlooking Times Square, which served as the inspiration behind the Bubbles Over Broadway theme.
“Times Square is a hub of excitement and energy, with something always happening, and we wanted to curate a space that captures that,” Medved said. “Bubbles naturally evoke a sense of joy and festivity, making them the perfect theme for our activation.”
The energy and theme is fully realized by the lounge's bubble machines, inflatable iridescent bubbles, bubble decals and full-size bubble bath photo-op, coming together to create "a playful and immersive environment for relaxation and enjoyment."
Bubbles Over Broadway is open daily from 5 p.m. through 10 p.m. and features a DJ on both Wednesday and Saturday nights. Reservations can be made on OpenTable through Sept. 2.
"This activation perfectly compliments any evening, whether you're gearing up for a Broadway show or looking for a memorable nightcap," Medved said. "We've meticulously designed every detail in the decor and menu to encourage guests to capture the experience and share their moments."
