NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A masked man attacked an 89-year-old woman in her bedroom during a Bronx home invasion this weekend, police said.
The woman was in her first-floor apartment near Beck Street and Longwood Avenue in the Longwood section around 2:20 a.m. Saturday when the man entered through an unlocked backdoor, according to police.
Once inside, the man went into the woman's bedroom, grabbed her and threw her onto her bed, police said.
The man demanded cash and the woman gave him her purse with $100 in it, police said. He then took off through the backdoor.
Police said the woman suffered pain and bruising to her arm but refused medical attention.
The NYPD released surveillance video that shows the suspect in the woman's backyard.
