Homeless man, 45, dies nearly 2 months after hit-and-run in Brooklyn

NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A homeless man died almost two months after he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and run in Brooklyn, police said Friday.

According to officials, 45-year-old Michael Williams, was pronounced dead at the NYC Health & Hospitals/Kings County on Monday April 5.


At approximately 11:05 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Bedford Avenue in the Crown Heights section.

Williams was found lying in the middle of the street with trauma to his head and torso.

investigation determined that the pedestrian was attempting to cross Atlantic Avenue southbound at the intersection with Bedford Avenue when he was struck by an unknown vehicle which was traveling eastbound on Atlantic Avenue.

The vehicle fled the scene and no arrests have been made so far, officials said.

An investigation remains ongoing.
