Miller, who has held the role for almost a decade, was also on double-duty as Deputy Commissioner of Public Information in 2021 under Mayor Eric Adams and then-Police Commissioner Dermot Shea.

Miller is known best as being the first official to speak at possible terrorism-related news events, including the April 12 mass shooting of 10 people on a Brooklyn subway.

A former television personality, Miller often discussed national security and crime on “CBS This Morning” and “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley.”

Though it isn’t confirmed, sources told the Post Miller will likely be back in the television world for his new gig.

Miller faced criticism at a City Council hearing earlier this year for saying the department never surveilled Muslims after the Sept. 11 attacks.
