NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Vice president Kamala Harris will travel to NYC Friday afternoon to join second gentleman Douglas Emhoff celebrate daughter Ella's graduation, the White House announced.
Ella, 21, is a student at the Parsons School of Design, where she has been studying fine arts with a specialty in textiles.
Harris will return to Washington later in the day.
Although Harris is technically Ella's stepmom -- Ella's birth mom is the second gentleman's ex-wife, film producer Kerstin Emhoff -- the family does not consider it a "step" relationship. (The White House called Ella Harris' "daughter," for example.)
Kerstin Emhoff joined her daughter on Thursday for graduation festivities, posting Instagram story photos (below).
Ella, known for her funky style and affinity for colorful knitwear, was recently signed as a model by IMG and lives in Bushwick in Brooklyn -- where her dad was born.
