NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — An up-and-coming New York City rapper has been charged with fatally shooting a man during a dispute at a Harlem barbershop, according to police.

Kay Flock, whose legal name is Kevin Perez, was charged last week in connection with the Dec. 16 shooting death of 24-year-old Oscar Hernandez on Amsterdam Avenue, near West 151st Street.
The 18-year-old rapper surrendered to police on Dec. 23, according to his attorney, Scott Leemon.
However, Kay Flock has adamantly denied the allegations.
In a statement published on social media by YouTube personality DJ Akademiks, Leemon said his office is beginning its own investigation into the allegations against Kay Flock.
The attorney added that they will be seeking video evidence and demanded a tip to police that there was another shooter on the street that day be investigated.
“Considering the DA’s significant disclosure [Friday] morning that that NYPD received a tip saying someone else is the shooter, we demanded the DA’s office provide prompt disclosure of the videos reference in the complaint and more information on the tip,” Leemon said.
According to a report from the New York Daily News, the shooting incident began when Hernandez was sitting in a barber’s chair and Kay Flock opened the door and asked him what he was looking at.
The victim stepped outside to confront Kay Flock, and the two continued to argue until Kay Flock pulled out a gun and shot Hernandez in the neck and chest, according to the report.
Police told the News that the shooting may have been gang related.
Kay Flock, a Bronx-based rapper, was named “R&B/Hi-Hop Rookie of the Month” by Billboard Magazine in November. His first album, “The D.O.A. Tape,” was released earlier this year by Capitol Records.
Since his arrest, Kay Flock appears to have deleted his Instagram account.
