NEW YORK (1010 WINS/ WCBS 880 NEWS) – Kelly Clarkson stopped her Las Vegas show on Sunday night to help a New York City principal and his fiancé get married.
Brian Artzt, an assistant principal at Bronx Health Sciences High School, and Marcello Cialini, a pharmacy student, tied the knot during “An Intimate Night with Kelly Clarkson” concert at the Bakkt Theater.
Viral video shows the pop singer passing her microphone to the officiant who conducted the marriage ceremony.
“Incredible, a dream,” Cialini told 1010 WINS of the experience. “Who else would stop their show and actually call an officiant from the audience in the middle of one of her songs?"
In the video, the Grammy-winning artist is seen passing her microphone to the officiant who conducted the marriage ceremony.
The officiant asked Artzt, "Brian, do you take Marcello to be your lawful wedded husband forever til death do you part?"
Artzt promptly replied, "I do."
Similarly, Cialini was asked, "Marcello, do you take Brian to be your lawful wedded husband til death do you part for the rest of your life?" He responded, "Yes, I do." The officiant then pronounced them "husband and husband" to the cheers of the audience and Clarkson herself.
The couple met in 2009 and have a history of moments involving Clarkson. In fact, they got engaged at one of her concerts in 2019.
Following their wedding, Artzt’s school also celebrated the occasion, posting on X, “Congrats to Bronx Health Sciences High School's very own Assistant Principal Artzt on tying the knot—with an assist from @kellyclarkson—over winter break!”
“If you really feel and believe that something is possible it can and will happen,” Artzt told 1010 WINS. “We never thought we would be engaged by her on our side and we never ever thought we would get to meet her in person and we were able to do so.”
