NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – A knife-wielding man was shot and wounded by a private security guard in the Bronx on Thursday afternoon, police said.
Police told WCBS-TV that the man was waving a knife at people near Metropolitan and Wood avenues in the Parkchester section around 4:40 p.m.

An officer with the Parkchester Department of Public Safety told the man to drop the knife, but the man didn't comply, according to the report.
The officer then fired three rounds, striking the man once in the buttocks, police said.
Citizen App video shows a man being rolled away on a stretcher.
Police said the man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized at Jacobi Medical Center.
The NYPD said none of its officers opened fire.
