NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- The NYPD released images Thursday of a man who allegedly stabbed a subway rider in the back at a NoHo station on Wednesday morning.

The 51-year-old victim was in the mezzanine of the Broadway–Lafayette Street station just after 5 a.m. when his attacker got into an argument with him, police said. It's unclear what the dispute was about.

As the victim was heading out of the station, the other man whipped out a knife and stabbed him in the back from behind.

The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to his back. He was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue, where he was in stable condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
