CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (1010 WINS) — A 39-year-old woman was found shot to death in her Central Islip apartment on Monday night, according to police.
A family member called police and reported finding Shayna Staton dead in her apartment on Hawthorne Avenue near Half Mile Road around 9:41 p.m., officials said.
The Suffolk County Police Department's homicide squad is investigating the shooting.
Officers have not yet made any arrests or publicized a suspect.
