
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Lime, a company known for its e-scooters is set to launch an electric moped-sharing service on Friday, rivaling Revel, the company announced.
The company will begin by releasing a fleet of 100 motorcycles across Queens, Brooklyn, and Lower Manhattan, the company said.
“E-mopeds can serve a vital role in expanding access to affordable, safe, and carbon-free public transportation to more New Yorkers,” Lime CEO Wayne Ting said in a statement.
Lime will then expand to 500 vehicles “in a matter of weeks,” and could continue to increase over the summer and expand its service nto the Bronx as well as other outer boroughs.
