Boy, 13, seriously injured after e-bike hits deer on Long Island

EAST ISLIP, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured Thursday evening when the e-bike he was riding struck a deer in Suffolk County, police said.

The teen was riding the bike at Woodland Drive and Gwendolyn Place—a residential area of East Islip—just after 5:40 p.m. when “the e-bike collided with a deer in the roadway,” according to police.

The boy was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip with serious injuries.

The e-bike was impounded for a safety check.
