Long Island MacArthur Airport worker fatally electrocuted: police

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. (1010 WINS) -- An employee at Long Island MacArthur Airport died while on the job Wednesday, police confirmed.

Suffolk police said Michael Jacob was working on runway lights at the Ronkonkoma airport when he was shocked just before 3 p.m.


The 51-year-old was pronounced dead at Stony Brook University Hospital.

A second employee, Gino Fiermonte, was also shocked while trying to attend aid to Jacob. Fiermonte went to a hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening.
