NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A man wielding a machete was shot by another man during an argument on Staten Island on Wednesday, police said.
Shots rang out around 9:30 a.m. at Grantwood and Vineland avenues in Arden Heights.
The two men—ages 50 and 45—were arguing when the younger man brandished a machete and threatened the older man, who shot him in the chest, police said.

It’s unclear what sparked the dispute, though there are reports it may have been road-rage related.
The man who was shot was taken to an area hospital in unknown condition.
The gunman was being questioned, but no charges had been filed against him by afternoon.
