NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Authorities are investigating the death of an 18-year-old man after the dirt bike he was riding on with a 14-year-old girl collided with a minivan at a Bronx intersection Monday evening.

According to police, around 6:45 p.m., the man was riding the motorbike east on East 172nd Street with the teen girl when they crashed into a Honda Odyssey traveling north on Metcalf Avenue in Soundview.

Both teens were thrown from the bike. They were rushed to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi where the boy died. His identity has not been released by police.

The girl was in stable condition, officials said.

The 42-year-old man driving the Honda remained at the scene after the crash.

There have been no arrests made as officials continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash.
