
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — A 21-year-old pedestrian was struck by a cab in the Lower East Side early Saturday morning and was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.
At about 4:50 a.m., a taxi was traveling eastbound on Delancey Street when it struck the 21-year-old as he crossed at the intersection of Clinton Street.
EMS transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue in critical condition, authorities said.
Police said that the cab had a green light at the time of collision. The 69-year-old driver initially continued on, but he soon returned to the crash site.
The NYPD’s Collision Investigation Squad was on the scene Saturday morning.
There have been no arrests, and the investigation is still pending.
