NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- A 23-year-old man was charged for allegedly raping a young girl on Staten Island earlier this year, authorities said.

The accused, John Yupanqui, forced a girl under 13 years old into intercourse and other sexual acts this past January, according to the criminal complaint obtained by the Staten Island Advance.
Yupanqui was charged with rape, criminal sex act, sexual misconduct and acting in manner to injure a child under 17, according to the report.
Bail was set at $100,000 bond or $25,000 cash, court records show.
Yupanqui will be back in Richmond Criminal Court in August.
